Deputy Poturaev on the plan to ban the UOC: “First of all, we need to resolve the issues with the governing centers.”

The head of the parliamentary committee on humanitarian and information policy and one of the ideologists behind the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Mykyta Poturayev, spoke about the plan to liquidate the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The MP claims that since the UOC consists of thousands of legal entities, the state has decided to first ban diocesan administrations, and then monasteries and ordinary parishes. He spoke about this in a comment to the publication Obozrevatel.

“The pro-Russian church is not a single monolithic religious organization, but consists of thousands of different legal entities. And first of all, it is necessary to solve the problems with the administrative centers,” — the deputy said.

We will remind you that recently, Mykyta Poturayev proposed convening another “unification council” in order for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to become part of the OCU. The MP is convinced that this is the only way the UOC can resolve the issue of the future ban on the Church.
