Head of OCU meets with Czech President in Prague

on October 13, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, met with Czech President Petr Pavel in Prague. The talks were held within the framework of the Forum 2000 international conference on the challenges of modern democracy, where Ukraine was one of the key topics.

According to the press service of the head of the OCU, during the conversation, Epiphany Dumenko emphasized the country’s desire for unity. «We want to have one Ukrainian homeland, a strong, democratic, European and one autocephalous Orthodox Church,» Epiphany Dumenko told President Pavel. At the end of the meeting, he handed over memorable gifts to the Czech leader.

We recently reported that Ukrainian schismatics formed a «chaplaincy mission» on the canonical territory of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia. The actual parish of the OCU in the Czech Republic will operate in the city of Brno, and the first religious event was held on August 23, 2025. The OCU is not deterred by the fact that the opening of parishes abroad is expressly prohibited by the «Tomos of Autocephaly», which provides for the organization’s functioning only within Ukraine.
