In Chernivtsi, TCC officers detained a UOC cleric

In Chernivtsi, employees of the Territorial Completion Center (TCC) detained Archpriest Mykola Sinyuk, a cleric of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). Archpriest Mykola Sinyuk is a cleric of the Vvedensky Monastery in Chernivtsi. This was reported on January 7, 2026 on the page of the Chernivtsi diocese of the UOC in Facebook.

According to information released by the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the UOC, Archpriest Nicholas Sinyuk, who serves in the Vvedensky monastery of Chernivtsi, was detained by representatives of the TCC. In addition, the diocese also recalled the priest Fyodor Hnitetsky, who was also detained by TCC officers earlier.

According to parishioners’ reports, Archpriest Vasyl Drahun, the rector of the Church of the Myrrh-bearing Women in the village of Rakovo, was detained by officers of the Territorial Center of Completion (TCC) in Uzhgorod while he was undergoing inpatient treatment in a regional hospital.
