Social media scandal: The LGBT organization UkrainePride has offended the religious feelings of believers

A major scandal has erupted on social media over the activities of the LGBT organization UkrainePride, whose representatives posted a series of messages that offended the religious sensibilities of Christians. The incident sparked a wave of outrage among believers, civil society organizations, and military personnel, who are demanding a legal assessment of the activists’ actions.
According to the civic organization “All Together, ” the conflict was sparked by a discussion on the social media platform Threads. One of the users, Maxim Tarkovsky, posted in support of traditional biblical values, emphasizing that “Jesus was not a representative of the LGBTQ community, but was and remains our Savior.” In response, the official UkrainePride account left a provocative comment, calling Christ “their girl” and using vulgar language.
Subsequently, representatives of the organization published a separate post in which they mocked the Sacrament of the Last Supper. The activists compared the apostles to “girlfriends at an after-party,” which caused an even greater public outcry. According to the public organization “All Together,” official complaints to law enforcement agencies and lawsuits against the authors of the posts for blasphemy and incitement of religious discord are currently being prepared.
As a reminder, earlier, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, held a meeting with representatives of LGBT organizations to discuss possible amendments to the draft of the new Civil Code. Activists stated the need to revise certain provisions of the document regarding the definition of family and proposed enshrining in law provisions related to the protection of the rights of the LGBT community.
