Israel's Foreign Ministry announced a large-scale LGBT festival in the neighborhood of Sodom and Gomorrah

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially announced plans to hold the largest LGBT festival in the Middle East on the Dead Sea coast in June. The choice of the venue caused a wave of criticism and bewilderment among believers, as this territory is traditionally identified with the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

In the official account of the Israeli agency in the social network X was posted an advertisement of a large-scale event, which involves the creation of temporary infrastructure right in the desert. The program includes round-the-clock entertainment shows, the work of concert venues and hotels. The organizers also announced events aimed at “family recreation”.

This initiative provoked a serious resonance in the Christian environment. Many clergymen and public figures emphasized the inappropriateness of the choice of location, which, according to the 19th chapter of the Book of Genesis, was destroyed because of the wickedness and pride of the inhabitants. “Why this particular location? They are mocking God,” expressed his outrage to Father Michael Lilly, priest of the Orthodox Church of the Nativity in Youngstown, Ohio.

Amid ongoing tensions in the region and existing military threats, the authorities’ decision to hold such a massive and controversial festival in a place with deep religious meaning has raised questions among much of the public. Critics see it as a direct challenge to Christian values and the biblical understanding of morality.
