In Volyn, MP demands inspections of UOC Sunday schools "because of fears of propaganda"

A deputy of the Volyn regional council, Andriy Bokoch, initiated comprehensive inspections of educational centers, Sunday schools and family clubs operating under religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region. The main goal of this initiative is «to make sure that there is no propaganda of the ideas of the «Russian world» and that children are taught according to the programs of the aggressor country».
According to Radio BUG, the reason for the deputy’s request was a case in Kiev. In the monastery «Goloseevskaya desert» was revealed school «Perspektiva», working under the guise of a family club, where children were allegedly taught using Soviet textbooks and popularized Russian culture. «We have already seen how this works in Kiev. It’s better to make sure that we don’t have it than to think that we don’t have it,» Bokoch emphasized.
According to the MP, the education department has already provided a preliminary response, according to which no violations have been identified, but the politician insists on a more detailed analysis. He noted that «suspicious moments» remain in a number of institutions.
Bokoc summarized that if no violations of the law are found during the official inspections, the educational institutions attached to the temples will continue their activities as usual. The inspections are intended solely to ensure national security in the educational and cultural spheres of the region.
