The President of Belarus stated that Russia has failed to achieve its military objectives in Ukraine because Putin was "deceived" by the Vatican and the Jewish lobby

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that Russia has not achieved its objectives in the war against Ukraine, as Vladimir Putin was deceived by external forces following the withdrawal of Russian troops from the outskirts of Kyiv. According to him, Moscow’s decision was influenced by representatives of the Vatican, Israeli intermediaries, and the “Jewish lobby.”
According to Nasha Niva, Lukashenko told an Arab journalist in an interview that at the start of the full-scale war, “many expected a quick Russian victory” because Russian troops were in the Kyiv area.
According to the Belarusian president, Putin agreed to withdraw frontline units from the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital after “certain politicians and forces” asked him to stop and move toward a peace agreement. Lukashenko claims that up until that point, in his opinion, “Ukraine’s days were numbered.”
He went on to claim that these forces allegedly took advantage of Moscow’s willingness to negotiate. Among them, Lukashenko named the Vatican, Israeli mediators, and the “Jewish lobby,” who, he said, spoke on behalf of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and declared their readiness for peace.
Lukashenko also expressed the view that if the Russian offensive had continued, the Ukrainian leadership “would have been wiped out.” At the same time, he acknowledged that the war has dragged on and, in his assessment, “no one has achieved their goals,” but added that he considers Russia’s position more convincing and expects its continued success.
As a reminder, earlier, the head of the Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Veniamin, stated thata possible visit by Pope Leo XIV to Belarus must be coordinated with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. This condition was voiced at a meeting with the Pope’s special envoy, Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, which took place on October 27 in Minsk.
