Reports have emerged from the Palestinian town of Taybeh of an attack by Israeli settlers on Christian homes

A large-scale attack took place in the ancient Palestinian town of Taybeh in the West Bank: a group of Israeli settlers reportedly attacked the town using Molotov cocktails and firearms. Farmland and residential homes were set on fire, and there are also reports of an attempted bombing of a local gas station.

According to Life Site News, the attack was carried out by armed radicals from illegal settlements. According to human rights activist Ihab Hassan, the residents of Taybeh are living in fear because the attackers allegedly opened fire on homes and civilians, and the town is surrounded by gunfire.

Taybeh holds special significance for the Christian world: the city is traditionally identified with the biblical Ephraim, where, according to the Gospel of John, Jesus Christ withdrew before His Passion. Today, Taybeh is referred to as the last town in the West Bank with an exclusively Christian population.

Local clergy describe the situation as a “siege,” stating that the pressure on the town is aimed at economically suffocating the community and forcibly displacing Christians from their lands. Details regarding the consequences of the attack and possible casualties are being clarified.
