The National Police of Ukraine have launched an investigation into "Wizard Veliar," who participated in protests at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

The National Police of Ukraine has launched a criminal investigation into individuals who provide occult services under the guise of magicians, including Bogdan Orishchenko, widely known by the pseudonym “Magician Veliar.” The investigation was launched following a complaint by Ukrainian People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, who provided evidence of systematic deception of citizens.

According to Zheleznyak, investigative authorities are examining the activities of the suspects, who used popular social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram to extract money by abusing their clients’ trust. An official case has been opened under the charge of “fraud.”

Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak emphasized that he had previously submitted materials pointing not only to a fraudulent scheme but also to possible tax evasion. While the police are investigating the fraud, matters related to tax violations have been referred to the Economic Security Bureau.

It should be noted that Orishchenko had previously drawn public attention with provocative actions, in particular, participating in blasphemous protests outside the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and he has also appeared as a witness in cases related to human rights activism.
