In Kremenchug, believers from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were denied entry to the grounds of the Trinity Church

An incident occurred in Kremenchuk near the walls of the Trinity Cathedral, where members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church faced restrictions on access to their church. Despite previous assurances that services could be held, parishioners were unable to freely access the church grounds.

According to information received by , the faithful were able to hold their morning procession without hindrance and celebrate the Liturgy in the church courtyard. However, upon the conclusion of the service, they discovered that all entrances to the cathedral grounds were locked. Police officers present at the scene ignored the congregation’s demands to open the gates, and one of the individuals present announced the imposition of a “sanitation day.”

Parishioners expressed bewilderment at the selective approach taken by law enforcement: according to eyewitnesses, the police, together with unidentified individuals, continued to allow individual citizens to enter and exit the cathedral grounds, blocking access only to the majority of the UOC congregation. The believers emphasized that their sole purpose was to pray in the church they had attended for many years.

As a reminder, earlier, the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Dyakivnych, made a statement during a recent press conference regarding the status of the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kremenchuk. The official stressed that representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church must “strictly comply with court rulings regarding the religious community’s transition to the OCU.”
