A hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and pilgrims from Ukraine celebrated a nighttime liturgy at the Holy Sepulcher

On September 13, 2026, a solemn divine service was held in Jerusalem: Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh concelebrated with a hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem during the night Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. According to , the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the event took place with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

Metropolitan Ioakim of Helenopolis presided over the service. Joining him in prayerful unity were Metropolitan Pimen, representatives of the clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and clergy from the dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In addition to the clergy, numerous believers were present in the church, including pilgrimage groups from Ukraine.

During the Liturgy, special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, an end to the war, as well as for the defenders of the Fatherland and the entire Ukrainian people. A special moment of the service was the recitation of the prayer “Our Father” by pilgrims from Ukraine, which, according to the participants, filled their hearts with spiritual joy and hope.

As a reminder, on August 18, 2026, in the Bulgarian city of Burgas , solemn events were held to mark the 1,080th anniversary of the repose of St. John of Rila. Archbishop Job of Shumsk, a hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and rector of the Pochaiv Theological Seminary, took part in the festive Divine Liturgy.
