In Alexandria, participants summarized the results of the theological dialogue and discussed new air routes between Greece and Egypt

The meetings of the International Commission on Orthodox-Anglican Theological Dialogue (ICAOTD) have concluded in Alexandria. According to Romfea.gr, the delegations met for several days at the Patriarchal Residence and concluded their work on September 24, 2026, in the Throne Room in the presence of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa.

Patriarch Theodore II expressed his satisfaction that historic Alexandria had once again become a venue for interchurch dialogue, emphasizing the Alexandrian See’s commitment to seeking mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence. The co-chairs of the commission, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Bishop Michael Lewis, thanked the head of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria for his hospitality. As part of the program, the dialogue participants toured the Patriarchate’s museum collection and visited the famous Library of Alexandria.

As a reminder, earlier, Susan Bell, a “bisshopess” of the Anglican Church, issued an official apology to the LGBT community for the church’s longstanding practice of discriminating against and excluding members of sexual minorities from church life. As a sign of support for the activists, she incorporated rainbow symbols into her vestments.
