Patriarch Porphyrios Congratulated the Head of the Phanar on the 35th Anniversary of His Enthronement

Serbian Patriarch Porphyry sent a congratulatory message to Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of his enthronement, expressing his prayerful wishes for good health and many more years of service. According to the Orthodox Times, the message emphasizes the fraternal bonds and Eucharistic communion between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Patriarchate of Constantinople.

In the text of his congratulatory message, Patriarch Porphyry conveyed his heartfelt wishes and prayers, asking Christ, the Shepherd of the Almighty, to grant Patriarch Bartholomew many more years of service to God and to the faithful under his spiritual care. The message specifically highlights the desire to strengthen spiritual ties and mutual support between the churches.

The Patriarch also emphasized the importance of health and spiritual strength for the continuation of the pastoral mission. The message speaks of prayer “for the good health and spiritual strength of Your Holiness,” and continues: “Through you, we embrace all Christ-loving clergy and devout believers of our sister Patriarchate of Constantinople, sending you a kiss of peace and fraternal greetings,” the source reports.

As a reminder, the head of the Phanar had previously called the Patriarchs of Moscow and Serbia “violators of church order,” threatening them with “retribution before God.”
