But the OCU did not convince the local churches that it was she who was really the local church for Ukraine, religious scholar Yuriy Chernomorets wrote on Facebook. He wrote about this, commenting on the statement of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople about the consecration of myrrh with the participation of eleven Local Churches, including the OCU.

According to him, despite “individual manifestations of social service, excellent PR”, the OCU has “a lack of institutional theology, minimal inter-Christian dialogue in Ukraine and on the world stage, almost complete absence in modern theological dialogues.”
