The Satanov community organized a vote for the transition to the OCU, and then changed their minds

Part of the inhabitants of the village of Yurintsy, in the Satanov community of the Khmelnytsky region, expressed a desire to move from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the OCU. The abbot did not agree to the transition. It is reported by Suspilne.
The inhabitants of the villages of Yurintsy and Pokrovka of the Satanov community came to talk with the priest regarding the transition to the OCU for the second time. On the threshold, the rector of the temple, father Peter Babak, and the dean of the Gorodok district, father Aleksey Dobosh, invited people to go to the church, to which they did not agree due to the fact that residents of the village of Klinovo, 15 kilometers from Yurintsy, came to the temple.
“What have you come for? Let our Pokrovka and Yurintsy decide. The Klinovo has nothing here. And they all came here. What right do they have? We decide,” said a resident of Yurintsev.
The dean of the Gorodok district, father Aleksey Dobosh, explained that “people who are members of this community have the right to vote. Not residents of Satanov or Yurintsev, but those who consider themselves members of a religious community. Those who have reached the age of 18 regularly participate in divine services, confess, take communion, and are in obedience to the rector. This is a state document, not a church one.”
Further, the dean invited all those present to register at the meeting and vote so that the parishioners of the church, subject to a two-thirds vote, could register the charter of the OCU religious community with the military administration. However, the parishioners wishing to move did not agree to vote. Pokrovka resident Yuri Branitsky explained that this is due to the fact that not all villagers are present. The meeting was postponed indefinitely.
In a commentary, the rector of the temple noted that he is a patriot of his country, prays for peace, but he will not go over to the OCU, even if two-thirds of the parishioners vote.
“I am faithful to the service of our Ukrainian Orthodox Church under the leadership of His Beatitude Onufry. If they tell me to vacate God’s house, I will liberate and pray individually. Loyalty to God and serving him is above all,” says Father Peter Babak.
