Priests of the Georgian Orthodox Church: We hope that the Church Council will judge Patriarch Bartholomew

The priests of the Georgian Orthodox Church came out in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and expressed the hope that Patriarch Bartholomew would be judged by the Church Council.

Archpriest David Isakadze noted that the clergy “dedicated more than one conversation to what is happening around the Church in Ukraine. Unfortunately, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew played a big role in the formation of the schismatic group of the false Metropolitan Epifaniy, which is currently persecuting the UOC. He acted illegally, interfering in the jurisdiction of another Church, which is a canonical violation and is subject to punishment. We hope that the Church Council will judge him and, if this does not happen in this world, then he will not escape the Court of God anywhere.”

Father David also added that the rights of the Ukrainian Orthodox are violated in Ukraine first of all. “We are praying for our Ukrainian Orthodox brothers and sisters. When St. Gregory the Theologian arrived in Constantinople, there was only one Orthodox church. The Arians captured everything else. But then Orthodoxy triumphed. In the same way, Orthodoxy will win in Ukraine,” he said.

Priest Fotiy Zumbadze stressed that in the desecrated churches of the UOC “Uniates and schismatics” jointly “serve” thanksgiving prayers, concerts are held. And all this is carried out “by means of joint, coordinated actions of the government and this graceless religious formation.”
