In Transcarpathia, none of the more than 600 communities of the UOC transferred to the OCU

There are 623 religious communities of the UOC in the Transcarpathian region, and since February 24, 2022, not one has applied to the regional administration to transfer to the OCU. This was reported in response to a request from Espresso.Zapad at the Department of Strategic Communications, Nationalities and Religions of the Transcarpathian Regional Military Administration.

“As of April 18, 2023, there are 623 religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Transcarpathian region. For the period from February 24 to April 19, 2023, statements to the regional state administration – the regional military administration about changing the subordination of religious communities to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which in the canonical subordination of the Moscow Patriarchate, they did not enter the Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” the Transcarpathian Military Administration reported.
