Vadym Novinsky: The bishop Pavel's case is an attempt to organize a trial of the UOC

Deacon Vadym Novinsky has commented on the trial of the rector of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Vladyka Pavel. He wrote about it on his own website.

The clergyman noted that this trial «became an example of turning the Ukrainian judicial system into a system of repression and mockery of human dignity. The court hearing was scheduled for Friday and, it was delayed until late at night on purpose, in order to create a situation in which a person is placed in a cell for at least two days without the possibility of bail. This is a blatant attempt to put pressure on the ruler in order to break his will».

Vadym Novinsky is convinced that the case of the bishop Pavel is «an attempt to arrange a trial of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to organize a show trial to intimidate other representatives of the priesthood, monks of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and laymen.»
