"They've been hidden militants in Lavra and arming the Russian army": comedian Pritula told why the UOC should be banned

Famous Ukrainian TV presenter and standup comedian Serhiy Pritula, who is accused in the media of embezzling financial aid to the Ukrainian army, has urged MPs to vote in favor of draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Pritula claims that in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra hid militants of their “DPR” and “LPR”, and the priests of the UOC armed the Russian army. About this the comedian told in an interview with YouTube channel “Radio Bayraktar”.

“In Kiev-Pechersk Lavra hid militants from the unrecognized “LPR” and “DPR”. I remember the words of eyewitnesses with whom I spoke, about popes of the Moscow Patriarchate, who were found caches with weapons, which they then gave out and did not have time to give either to pro-Russian militants or Russian soldiers. We have dozens and dozens of cases of collaborationist behavior on the part of popes of this Moscow patriarchate or, more correctly, the Russian Orthodox Church and its branch, the branch of the FSB, who “leaked” information about Ukrainian patriots and pro-Ukrainian people in certain territorial communities, who passed information about the movement of Ukrainian troops. That is, everything is clear! These are not isolated cases and there are not five or ten of them, but dozens, dozens, dozens that approach hundreds. Spreading Russian propaganda… How do you still lack evidence here – one with the other – people’s Deputy to raise your ass, sit down at your workplace and make history by the fact that you banned the structure that works to the detriment of the state”, – said Pritula.

We will remind, August 10, 2024, in another evening address to the nation, Vladimir Zelensky announced the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The head of state said that he held a meeting “on the decision that will strengthen our spiritual independence”.
