Primate of the Church of Cyprus commemorates head of OCU during service in Romania

On October 26, 2024, a solemn service was held in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, led by the heads of the Romanian and Cypriot Orthodox Churches. During the Liturgy in the Patriarchal Cathedral of Bucharest, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, Archbishop George, commemorated the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, among the heads of the Local Orthodox Churches. This is reported by the media.
It is reported that among the other Primates of the Local Churches, Archbishop George of Cyprus mentioned the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko at the end of the list. It is worth noting that the Orthodox Church of Cyprus officially recognized the OCU and entered into communion with this organization back in 2020, when the deceased head of the KOC first commemorated Dumenko, despite the opinion of the bishops of Cyprus. Later, through the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus, the late Archbishop Chrysostomos managed to get his actions recognized.
Earlier, we reported that the head of the OCU Epiphany Dumenko sent a letter to Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, which was read out during the Synod held at Phanar from October 22 to 24, 2024. In it, Dumenko complained about the Exarch of the Patriarch of Constantinople in Ukraine, Bishop Michael of Comana, and the Phanar delegation that visited Ukraine in late August.
