Polish Orthodox Church calls to pray for peace in Ukraine

The Office of the Primate of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church has published a statement by Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland on the third anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The first hierarch drew attention to the troubles caused by the war, calling for prayers for the speedy restoration of peace in Ukraine. The statement was published on the website of the Polish Church.

“Monday, February 24 marks three years since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, which was marked by tens of thousands of dead, hundreds of thousands of wounded, broken and divided families, destroyed cities, schools, hospitals, homes… After Ukraine, the fire of war spread to Palestine and Israel. Today, armed conflicts are ongoing in more than one hundred and eighty places around the world. Everyone who is not indifferent to human suffering is invited to pray for peace and care for the victims of war on Monday, February 24, and every day thereafter. Let us soothe their pain and wipe away their tears. God of peace, may Your Spirit grant peace to Ukraine, to our world and to our hearts!”, — the statement reads.

Earlier, we reported that the Primate of the UOC published an address on the occasion of the third anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
