SSU conducted searches at the Korets Holy Trinity Convent

On June 24, 2025, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the Korets Holy Trinity Convent, located in Rivne region. This was reported by UOJ’s sources in the monastery.

SSU representatives arrived at the monastery accompanied by police officers. According to sources, the searches have been ongoing for several hours. The details of the investigative actions have not yet been disclosed.

As of the time of publication, the monastery’s representatives had not issued any official comments. The SSU has also not released an official statement explaining the reasons or legal grounds for the searches.

Previously, in November 2022, security officers already carried out inspections of the nuns’ documents and mobile phones, looking for signs of alleged “support for Russian aggression,” but no evidence was found at that time.

It is worth noting that the diocesan council of the Rivne Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church sent an appeal to the head of the Rivne Regional Council, Andriy Karauzh, expressing concern over his public statements and initiatives aimed against the UOC. The response was prompted by the official’s proposal to conduct inspections of the diocese’s monasteries and churches.
