ROCOR First Hierarch Metropolitan Nicholas Greets Metropolitan Onufriy on His Name Day

On the eve of the commemoration day of Venerable Onuphrius the Great, the heavenly patron of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a greeting was sent to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine by Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. This was reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.

In his message, Metropolitan Nicholas expressed deep respect for Metropolitan Onufriy’s steadfastness in faith and spiritual resilience, with which he continues his archpastoral service during challenging times. The hierarch offered wishes for strong health, spiritual strength, and many blessed years so that the Primate of the UOC may continue glorifying the Risen Christ in joy.

“May the Lamb of God guard and strengthen you, so that for many more years you may bear witness to the Lord, Who ‘was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification’ (Romans 4:25),” the greeting states.

The archpastor also prayed that the Lord would fill the hearts of the faithful with His divine love, illuminate them with His grace, and grant peace — both to Ukraine and to the entire world.

It should also be noted that His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy was likewise congratulated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, Primate of the Polish Orthodox Church.
