Representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations told the Egyptian ambassador about “freedom of religion” in Ukraine

A delegation from the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations visited the Egyptian Embassy in Ukraine. Members of the AUCRO met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ukraine, Mr. Barakat Ali Elleisi, to whom they spoke about “freedom of religion” and “interfaith dialogue” in Ukraine. This was reported on the institution’s website.
It is reported that during the meeting, representatives of the AUCCRO told Ambassador B. El-Eisse about the state of freedom of religion in Ukraine and the activities of churches and religious organizations during the war, as well as the importance of interfaith dialogue and cooperation within the AUCCRO. Ukrainian religious leaders drew the ambassador’s attention “to the persecution by Russian occupiers of believers of various denominations in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, the destruction of Ukrainian churches and other religious institutions, and Russia’s use of religion as a weapon in its hybrid war against Ukraine and other countries.”
