The delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations held joint religious services with the Church of Norway, which recently apologized to the LGBT community

A delegation of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (AUCCRO) paid a visit to Oslo, Norway, on October 20, 2025, where they held a number of important meetings with the Christian Council of Norway and the Norwegian Bible Society, as well as participated in common worship events with representatives of the Church of Norway.

According to the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, during the day members of the AUCCRO participated in morning prayer at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Oslo, where prayers were offered for Ukraine and Norway. In the evening, a prayer for peace was held in the Lutheran Cathedral in Oslo, during which prayers were offered for Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, the soldiers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and for the restoration of the country.

The following religious figures of Ukraine were part of the AUCCRO delegation: Evangelical Christian Baptists Chairman Valery Antoniuk (head of the delegation), Supreme Archbishop of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Metropolitan Eustratiy (Zorya) of the Bila Tserkva OCU, RCC Bishop Vitaliy Krivitsky, Senior Bishop of the UCCEH Anatoliy Kozachok, Deputy General Secretary of the UBT Pastor Anatoliy Raichinets, Chairman of the Board of the IRF Oleksandr Zaets and UGCC priest Oleh Oleksa.

Note, we recently reported that the Church of Norway has formally apologized to the LGBTQ+ community for decades of discrimination that has caused «shame, great harm and pain.» The statement was made by the head of the organization, Olav Fykse Tveit, in a symbolic place — a pub that was the target of a terrorist attack during Oslo Pride events in 2022.
