Head of OCU in his Christmas message declares "the imminent fall of the Kremlin tyranny"

In his Christmas message on December 25, 2025, the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, drew parallels between the biblical event of the Nativity of Christ and Ukraine’s modern struggle against the Russian aggressor. He expressed his firm belief in the inevitable fall of the «Kremlin tyranny,» comparing it to the rule of King Herod, and emphasized that the spiritual struggle against evil symbolizes the victory of light and good over occupation.
According to Novynarnya, the head of the OCU emphasized that the invisible spiritual struggle in the souls of people against evil and sin is reflected in the modern struggle of the Ukrainian people. «The knowledge of these truths,» Dumenko noted, «may it help us not only in the spiritual struggle against sins, but also in the fight against the Russian aggressor, the enemy who has been fighting for almost twelve years to impose the yoke of Kremlin slavery on the Ukrainian people again.
Epifaniy expressed his firm belief that «the power of the Kremlin tyranny, although still significant, will still fall, just as the power of the tyrant Herod fell and as he himself died in agony, having received the curse of the memory of himself from generation to generation.»
On December 21, 2025, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Sviatoslav Shevchuk , criticized the peace plan discussed by diplomats from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia, calling it «so-called.» In his video message, he emphasized the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and called on the international community to stand in solidarity with Ukraine, insisting on the need to create conditions for real peace, not just signing a document.
