UN discusses inclusion of abortion and gender ideology in children's rights without parental consent

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva is considering a draft document that could enshrine the right of adolescents to have abortions and change their gender identity without parental consent. The initiative, known as General Comment No. 27, has already drawn a wave of criticism from human rights and civil society organizations expressing concerns about undermining parental rights and potential health risks for minors.
According to LifeSiteNews, the Committee is meeting from January 12 to January 30 to discuss the draft. The document proposes to consider minors’ access to abortion and the recognition of «gender identity» without parental consent as integral elements of protecting children’s rights. The authors of the initiative call on states to adopt a «gender-transformative approach» and provide adolescents with «free and equal access to reproductive health services,» as well as abolish age and parental restrictions on such procedures.
Critics of the draft say the proposed regulations could seriously undermine the rights of parents to raise their children and jeopardize the psychological and physical health of minors. Public organizations warn that the adoption of such a document could become an international precedent, putting significant pressure on national education and health care systems around the world.
Representatives of pro-family movements, including social activist Chris Elston, are actively calling on the UN to abandon the use of terms that they believe legitimize interference in family upbringing. They also draw attention to the fact that in countries where early «gender therapy» is already allowed, there is an increase in the number of medical complications in minors who have undergone such procedures.
We will remind, earlier odious cleric-blogger of the Ternopil diocese of the OCU Oleksiy Filyuk made a resonant statement, linking a full-scale war in the country with millions of abortions committed in Ukraine during the years of independence. Filyuk claims that because of abortions, the war occurred in Ukraine as a punishment from God for the Ukrainian people.
