Former KSCA official suspected of embezzlement of 660 thousand hryvnias during restoration of Florovsky nunnery of the UOC

The former deputy director-general of the Kiev Scientific and Methodological Center for the Protection, Restoration and Use of Historical, Cultural and Protected Areas Monuments of the Kiev City State Administration (KSCA) has been charged with embezzlement of budget funds. The crime was committed during the restoration of the cells of the Holy Ascension Florovsky Nunnery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a monument of urban planning and architecture of national importance. According to the investigation, the capital budget suffered damage to the amount of 660 thousand hryvnias.
According to the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’ s Office, prosecutors of the Desnyansky District Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv established that the ex-officer concluded a contract with a contractor organization for the performance of restoration works. Despite the fact that part of the work was performed poorly, and another part — at an inflated cost, the contractor was paid in full for the work. The conclusions of the forensic examinations confirmed the amount of damage.
We would like to remind you that earlier we reported that in the process of restoration of the wooden church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in the village of Verkhnyaya Rozhanka, Slavsky district, Lviv region, a corruption component was revealed, as the prices for restoration materials were significantly inflated.
