Organizers of the UOC procession were fined in Chernivtsi region

In Chernivtsi Region, law enforcers have brought to administrative responsibility the organizers of a mass religious procession to the Banchenskyy monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. According to ZAXID.NET, the event took place on May 20-21, despite the official ban on such street actions during the martial law period.

According to Bukovyna police spokeswoman Karolina Marysheva, the organizer and co-organizers were charged with administrative protocols under Article 185-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violation of the procedure for organizing and holding meetings, rallies and marches). The sanction of this article provides for a fine of 450 hryvnias. The fact of the march was previously reported by specialized resources of the UOC, noting that in the column, which traveled through the villages of Ostritsa and Tsuren, there were not only clergymen, but also men, women and children.

We would like to remind you that recently we reported that in the city of Kovel, Volyn region, a clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was brought to court “for organizing and holding a religious procession without the appropriate permission of the local authorities”. The subject of the trial was the fact that the procession was held on the territory of the local hospital, where the St. Panteleimon Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, whose rector is the mentioned cleric, is also located.
