A Polish company is investing one million euros in the restoration of St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv

St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv is preparing for large-scale emergency repairs: the Polish company Polimex Mostostal has decided to allocate one million euros for this purpose. The relevant agreements were formalized during the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026. This was reported on the Roman Catholic parish’s Facebook page.
According to the signed agreement, the Polish side will provide the Roman Catholic parish with the necessary equipment and scaffolding on a grant basis for indefinite use. The company will cover all costs associated with their manufacture, logistics, and installation on-site. Ukraine will be responsible for obtaining the necessary permits.
In addition, a letter of intent was signed during the conference by the insurance company PZU SA to form a “Rescue Coalition for St. Nicholas Church.” This initiative aims to attract additional international partners to the process of comprehensively restoring this architectural monument. The parish emphasizes that these steps are only the beginning of a long process of restoring the building, which was officially transferred to the community in January 2026 for a 50-year term of use.
As a reminder, we previously reported that Ukrainian Roman Catholics are set to receive another historic church in Odesa.
