Patriarch Kirill thanked the Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church for his support of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent a congratulatory message to Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria on the second anniversary of his election and enthronement, emphasizing the close spiritual ties between the two peoples. In his message, the Russian Primate expressed particular gratitude for the position taken by the head of the Bulgarian Church regarding the events in Ukraine. This was reported by the Orthodoxia News Agency.

In the text of the message, Patriarch Kirill noted that Patriarch Daniel steers the ship of the Church with paternal love for his flock, continuing the missionary work of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the Venerable John of Rila, and other champions of the faith. According to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, it is precisely this saving Orthodox faith that has remained, throughout the centuries, the foundation uniting the Russian and Bulgarian peoples.

The theme of solidarity in the context of the church crisis occupied a special place in the message. Patriarch Kirill expressed his sincere gratitude for the support that Patriarch Daniel has been providing to the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is currently facing difficult trials.
