Metropolitan Theodosius has been hospitalized due to complications from injuries sustained during the seizure of the cathedral in Cherkasy

Doctors at the cardiology hospital confirmed a serious deterioration in Metropolitan Theodosius’s health following an MRI scan. The hierarch was found to have injuries to his head and cervical spine sustained as a result of an attack by radicals on the cathedral in Cherkasy. This was reported by sources of the Union of Orthodox Journalists (SPZ) in the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
According to the information received, the injuries were caused by a targeted blow with a wooden stick inflicted on the bishop by one of the participants in the provocation. During a comprehensive diagnostic examination, doctors also noted an exacerbation of stage 3 chronic hypertension.
Given the combination of his injuries and underlying medical conditions, cardiologists insisted on the metropolitan’s immediate hospitalization. He is currently in the hospital under round-the-clock medical supervision by specialists.
