Chairman of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, who planned to transfer the Pochaev Lavra to the OCU, was detained for bribery

According to the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, the head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mikhail Golovko, and two other officials of the Regional Military Administration were exposed in bribery. These persons received unlawful benefits from a volunteer businessman, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the press service of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. As you know, Mikhail Golovko is known for his position against the activities of the UOC.

“The detainees demanded almost UAH 1.8 million from the owner of the enterprise for signing acts of completed work on the construction and repair of infrastructure facilities by the utility company of the Ternopil Regional Council,” the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine says.

“Such illegal actions of officials were committed, despite the fact that the entrepreneur was engaged in volunteer activities and helped the defense forces of Ukraine in every possible way,” the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office said.

As reported, the head of the Ternopil Regional Council announced that he would transfer the Pochaev Lavra to the OCU.
