Verkhovna Rada deputies promise to toughen the law on banning the UOC by the second reading

An MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Golos party, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, has said that the VRU Humanitarian Policy Committee plans to toughen the previously adopted law aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He said this on air on the YouTube channel LIGAnet.
According to the MP, the previously voted government bill No. 7381 is the most “clean in terms of European norms and practices”. Nevertheless, there is still a request in the parliamentary environment for a tougher legislative framework to simplify the procedure for banning the UOC.
“So far in the first reading of such a law. The committee seems to promise to make it faster and tougher by the second reading”, – Zheleznyak said.
