Court extends preventive measure for Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhya

The Solomenskyy district court of Kiev has extended the preventive measure for the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Luke (Kovalenko) of Zaporizhzhya and Melitopol. The hierarch was extended overnight house arrest for 30 days. About this the hierarch reported in his Telegram-channel.

«Beloved of God fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters! Thank God to all of you for your prayerful proclamations to the Lord, so necessary during the trials sent down today to each of us and to me personally! For my part, I humbly accept the court’s decision to extend the preventive measure for one month,» — Metropolitan Luke wrote.

Note, June 27, 2024 Pridneprovsky district court of Cherkassy issued a decision on strengthening the restriction of freedom of the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Metropolitan of Cherkassy and Kanev Theodosius. The court awarded the hierarch 60 days of round-the-clock house arrest.
