Odessa City Council has not transferred any property to the UOC for the last 5 years

Over the past 5 years, the Odesa City Council has not transferred any real estate to the Odesa Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The city council reported this in response to a request from local deputy Oleksandr Slavsky. It is posted on the Intent website.
The letter states that there are no lease relations with regard to religious buildings that are monuments of cultural heritage of local and national importance, namely, lease relations with the Odesa Diocese of the UOC.
“Based on the results of processing the information, it was found that the transfer of ownership of the Odesa Eparchy of the UOC over the past 5 years by the decisions of the Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council and by the decisions of the Odesa City Council did not take place,” – the statement says.
As reported, on August 27, 2024, in Odesa, an attacker attempted to set fire to the church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the Holy Great Martyr Tatiana. The arsonist was detained by local police.
