In Kherson region, Easter celebrations in churches will be replaced by online services

In the Kherson region, during a meeting of the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, it was decided to hold Easter celebrations online to avoid large gatherings in churches. This was announced by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, in a Facebook post.
According to him, Russian shelling continues and has repeatedly caused damage to churches and other festive locations. In light of this, local religious leaders, together with the authorities, have decided to introduce a new format for the blessing of Easter offerings. These blessings will take place not only on Easter night itself but also over several days, starting from Holy Saturday.
To ensure order during the holidays, the number of police patrols will be increased in populated areas of the region. Additionally, at the request of church leaders, security around churches will be tightened, especially in areas at risk of looting.
As a reminder, the Kyiv City Council has urged residents of the capital to refrain from attending churches on Easter night, April 20. The city administration emphasized that due to martial law, citizens must observe the curfew, which lasts from 00:00 to 05:00.
