OCU Monastic Delegation Visited Mount Athos Monasteries

Monks from the St. John Chrysostom Men’s Monastery of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) visited Mount Athos and other sacred sites in Greece. During the visit, the monastery’s abbot, Archimandrite Kyprian Lozynskyi, led the Divine Liturgy at the New Esphigmenou Monastery in honor of the feast day of Saint Martyr Agathangelos of Esphigmenou. Details of the trip were reported by Religiyna Pravda.
After the service, Lozynskyi addressed those present with words of gratitude and presented the monastery with a set of priestly vestments. In return, the brethren of the monastery gifted the OCU delegation an icon of the Ascension of the Lord.
The OCU representatives also venerated the monastery’s relics, including the remains of Orthodox saints.
On May 2, the delegation visited the Xenophontos Monastery, where they met with Abbot Alexios after the morning meal. During the meeting, Kyprian Lozynskyi presented a set of liturgical vestments as a gift to the monastery.
Earlier it was also reported that OCU head Epiphanius Dumenko plans to visit the St. Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Zhydychyn, Volyn region — a church that was seized several years ago in the interests of OCU monks. The visit is scheduled for May 8–9, 2025, and is dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of the Zhydychyn Monastery.
