In Kremenchuk, OCU representatives secured the power cutoff at a UOC church

In Kremenchuk, a church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was left without electricity after supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) initiated changes to the electricity supply documentation. According to the diocese, OCU representatives allegedly used fraudulent means to reissue the electricity supply contract, listing a religious organization unrelated to the Holy Trinity Church of the UOC. Following this, a request was submitted to the power supply company for a temporary shutdown, reportedly due to maintenance work. This was reported by the press service of the Kremenchuk Diocese of the UOC.

As a result, on June 20, the church was completely disconnected from the power grid. This disrupted a charitable initiative that provided daily hot meals to those in need. According to clergy, around two hundred people were left without meals that day.

The diocese notes that court proceedings are currently ongoing regarding the attempted unlawful re-registration of the parish under the OCU. Church representatives view the power cutoff as a deliberate provocation aimed at exerting pressure on UOC believers.

It is also noted that a conflict recently arose in Kremenchuk between the OCU community and the local branch of Poltavaoblenergo. The cause was the company’s refusal to accept and register an official complaint filed by the “Holy Trinity OCU Parish,” which, according to OCU supporters, obstructs their “lawful activity” and may indicate collaboration with entities linked to the aggressor state.
