Frontline City of Kharkiv to Host Gay Pride Parade

From August 30 to September 6, the city of Kharkiv, located near the front line, will host another gay pride event — KharkivPride 2025. Organizers have announced the slogan: “Together for Equality and Victory.” This was reported by Zmina.info.

“We already have the experience of organizing three safe Prides during the full-scale invasion. This gives us confidence that, in cooperation with police and local authorities, we will once again make KharkivPride visible and safe,” the organizers stated.

According to official KharkivPride announcements, the pride week will include the following events:

August 30–31 — Charity and educational PrideFest;

September 5 — Commemoration of fallen LGBTQ+ soldiers;

September 6 — “AutoPride” (a pride march in vehicle convoy format).

The organizers also noted that throughout the week, donations will be collected and transferred to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Earlier, it was reported that ОCU clerics have expressed outrage over the holding of LGBT events on St. Michael’s Square in Kyiv. They fear that such a neighborhood could give people the wrong impression of the ОCU’s support for these events. One of the signatories, “chaplain” Roman Hryshchuk, called for the gay pride parade to be moved from Kiev to other cities such as Pokrovsk or Konstantinovka. In his Facebook post, he published a text by another ОCU cleric, Andriy Golovkov, who expressed his displeasure with holding the rallies against the backdrop of the ОCU cathedral.
