Two UOC Priests in Kharkiv Targeted for Illegal Mobilization

In Kharkiv, officers of the Territorial Recruitment Center attempted to illegally mobilize two clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — Father Serhiy Kyt and his brother, Father Vitaliy. According to the parish of the Church of the Holy Martyr Alexander of Kharkiv, the brothers were deceitfully summoned for questioning by the Security Service of Ukraine, and upon leaving the building, were unlawfully detained despite having valid service deferments. This was reported by the “First Cossack” channel.

“Of course, this is politically motivated against our Church. It’s deliberate. We have the documents, and by law my deferment is valid. Moreover, I even had surgery this year,” the priest said.

Later in the evening, MP Artem Dmytruk announced that the priests had been released.

Earlier, we reported that American pastor Mark Burns, a close associate of Donald Trump, considers the meeting between Pope Leo XIV and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church to be useful. Burns believes that the Pontiff will be able to find the words that will make the Russian Church “repent” and “stop being a vassal of the Kremlin.”
