American pastor Mark Burns, who is part of Donald Trump’s circle of associates, believes that a meeting between Pope Leo XIV and representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church would be beneficial. Burns is convinced that the Pontiff will be able to find the words that will make the Russian Church “repent” and “stop being a vassal of the Kremlin.” Burns’ words are reported by Liga.net.

“It really seems contradictory, but from a spiritual point of view, we must be ready to talk to everyone. If the Lord has a word for the Pope to convey to the leadership of the Russian Church and help them understand that their support for the war is not God’s work and that it can lead to repentance, then, of course, we must talk. The goal is to bring them to repentance so that they return to the faith, and the Russian Orthodox Church understands that it should not be a vassal of the Kremlin, but should stand for peace and love for all people, including Ukrainians. My prayer is that the pope will convey this message to the Russian church,” – Burns said.
