Acting Abbot Appointed at the Exaltation of the Cross Monastery

On August 7, 2025, Metropolitan Viktor (Kotsaba) of Khmelnytsky and Starokostiantyniv visited the Exaltation of the Cross Men’s Monastery in Starokostiantyniv, where a tragic incident recently occurred involving the death of a serviceman. Following the visit, an order was issued to change the monastery’s leadership. This was reported by the press service of the Khmelnytsky Diocese of the UOC.

Archimandrite Theodosiy (Slobodyanyuk) has now been appointed acting abbot of the monastery. Metropolitan Viktor officially confirmed this appointment by decree on August 8, 2025.

It is worth recalling that the police of Khmelnytsky region ordered a repeated forensic examination of the body of the man who died on the territory of the Exaltation of the Cross Men’s Monastery of the UOC in Starokostiantyniv. Law enforcement agencies decided to conduct an additional investigation due to the emergence of new evidence in the case.
