The primates of the American and Macedonian Orthodox Churches will conduct a joint divine service

On September 2, 2025, the Primates of the American and Macedonian Orthodox Churches will celebrate a joint Divine Liturgy and establish communion between the two Local Churches. The joint service will take place in Washington, D.C., according to the official website of the OCA.
«On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will concelebrate the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with His Beatitude Archbishop Stephen of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric. This concelebration will mark the official recognition by the Orthodox Church in America of the newest and youngest autocephalous Orthodox Church in the world. The historic service will begin at 9:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Cathedral, 3500 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, D.C.», — according to a statement from the OCA press office.
On August 3, 2025, the hierarchs of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archbishopric and the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church celebrated the first Divine Liturgy in the history of their joint relations. The act of communion between the bishops of the two Churches took place at the Monastery of St. Leontius and the Protection of the Holy Mother of God in Vodoch. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church was represented by Metropolitan Filaret of Lviv and Halych.
