Earlier, we reported that the General Director of the Cherkasy TV channel Vikka, Serhiy Kuzlyaev, was outraged that the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol, had filed a lawsuit against the media for spreading false information about the bishop on one of their TV programs. Kuzlyaev is annoyed that the UOC hierarch is “raising his head” in an attempt to defend his honor and dignity in court.
Court in defamation case orders UOC hierarch to pay 10,000 to Cherkasy TV channel

The Dnipro District Court of Cherkasy fined Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhia and Melitopol, a hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 10,000 hryvnias in favor of the VICKA TV channel, against which the bishop filed a lawsuit for spreading slander against him. Earlier, the same court had dismissed the UOC hierarch’s lawsuit against the Cherkasy TV channel VICKA and the mayor of Cherkasy, Anatoly Bondarenko. This was reported by the IMI.
It is reported that on June 30, the court received a statement from the representative of the TV channel, lawyer Valery Makeev. In it, he asked to recover from Metropolitan Luke 47,500 hryvnias, which were spent by the TV channel on professional legal assistance.
As a result, the court partially granted Makeev’s request and decided to recover from the plaintiff in favor of the defendant the costs incurred for professional legal assistance in the amount of 10,000 hryvnias.
