In Athens, a group of young people turned a church drainpipe into a hiding place for drugs

Greek police arrested four young people aged between 18 and 24 who were using the area around the Church of Saint Panteleimon in Athens to store and distribute drugs. The criminals not only desecrated the holy place with their illegal activities, but also showed audacity by modifying part of the church building to create a hiding place.
According to Orthodoxia.info, the group of young people was arrested after turning a drainpipe outside the church into a cleverly designed hiding place. They modified the metal structure so that it could be opened and closed at will, allowing them to discreetly store batches of cannabis and narcotic pills inside, hiding them from parishioners and passers-by.
The perpetrators’ activities were stopped thanks to the prompt intervention of the ΔΙΑΣ group. Police officers, noticing suspicious movements of young people on the church grounds, immediately conducted an inspection. During the search, a carefully hidden amount of cannabis was found in the cap of an 18-year-old suspect, and narcotic pills were found on his 24-year-old accomplice.
As a result, all four were detained and handed over to the competent prosecutor. This incident caused a wide resonance, highlighting the audacity and cynicism of the criminals, who were not afraid to desecrate a sacred place for their illegal purposes.
