OCU proposes to open a shelter for military personnel in Kyiv Cave Monastery

Avrahamiy Lotysh, an employee of the national reserve and part-time head of the Kyiv Cave Monastery of the OCU, said that the Holy Dormition Kyiv Cave Monastery is going to be offered to the military who will need shelter after the end of hostilities. According to Lotysh, many soldiers have nowhere to return to after the war, as their homes and families may have been damaged by the fighting, so the monastery’s premises can be converted for residential purposes. He said this in an interview with Novyny.LIVE.
According to Lotysh, the monastery is a place where people are always welcome and given shelter. He cited the example of Ilya Muromets, who found peace in the Kyiv Cave Monastery after his military service. He emphasized that the monastery’s mission is charity and works of mercy, so the Lavra is ready to become an oasis for those in need.
Earlier, we reported that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine transferred the first two buildings on the territory of the Lower Lavra to the representatives of the OCU for free use. We are talking about the 49th and 70th buildings — the residences of the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine and the Chancellery of the Kyiv Metropolis.
