The Rivne Diocese reported that a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church had been detained by officers of the TRC

An incident occurred in the Rivne region involving the detention of Archpriest Vadim Mulyar, a cleric at the Pokrovsky Convent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which has raised concerns among representatives of the diocese. According to the Rivne Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the clergyman was taken to the Teritorial recruitment center (TRC) after a document check, despite having medical contraindications.
According to information provided by the Rivne Diocese of the UOC, on June 23, 2026, police officers stopped Archpriest Vadim Mulyar near his home in the village of Hoshcha. After his detention, he was taken to the TRC and then sent to Rivne to undergo a military medical examination. At this time, the clergyman remains in custody at the TRC. Church representatives have expressed serious concern about the detainee’s health and have called on the faithful to pray.
As a reminder, on June 15, 2026, in the Tulchyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, officers of the Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) detained Archpriest Alexander Grodzenko, a clergyman of the diocese.
