Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem met with the "Archbishop" of Canterbury

On June 24, 2026, an important meeting took place in Jerusalem between the heads of two Christian denominations: Patriarch Theophilos III, Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem, received Archbishop Sarah Mallally of Canterbury at his residence.
According to a Facebook post by the Jerusalem Patriarchate, during the official visit, the “Archbishop” was accompanied by Hosam Naum, the Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, as well as a delegation of representatives from the Anglican Church who had arrived from London. Information about this event was confirmed by official representatives of the Jerusalem Patriarchate on social media.
As a reminder, we previously reported that, for the first time in the history of the Anglican Church, a woman will assume the office of Archbishop of Canterbury. On October 3, 2025, Bishop of London Sarah Mallally will officially take office. This appointment marks an important milestone in the development of the Anglican Church and in the life of the United Kingdom.
