The Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia congratulated Metropolitan Onufry on his name day

On June 25, 2026, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, His Beatitude Metropolitan Rostislav, sent a congratulatory message to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine on the occasion ofhis name day, according to a report from the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
In his message, Metropolitan Rostislav expressed words of support and brotherly love, wishing the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the peace of Christ, as well as strength of mind and body. The Head of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia emphasized that in his prayers he asks the Lord to bestow upon Metropolitan Onufry the grace-filled help of the Holy Spirit in his exalted primatial ministry.
“May the All-Generous Lord, through the intercession of our venerable father Onuphrius the Great, preserve you in good health for many long and blessed years,” the congratulatory message reads. Metropolitan Rostislav also wished the recipient God’s generous help in all his endeavors for the good of the Church and many years of service in good health.
As a reminder, we previously reported that an extraordinary session of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in the Czech Lands and Slovakia took place in Bratislava. The agenda included issues of inter-Orthodox relations, the situation with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the canonization of new saints, as well as internal matters, including the financial recovery of the Prague Diocese. The Synod emphasized the importance of unity within the Orthodox world and expressed solidarity with persecuted believers in Ukraine.
